Relaxation of Body & Mind To assist deep relaxation, to counter the stressed mind and promote restful sleep, add 5-10 drops of Cedarwood to your bath or diffuser.
Skin Care: Add 3-4 drops to 50g of daily moisturiser to help counter excess oil or acne with astringent and antiseptic properties. This oil is particularly suitable for men and boys who prefer a spicy rather than floral fragrance.
Hair Tonic: Add 5 drops to shampoo or conditioner to promote lustre and growth. A great recipe for greasy hair during adolescence.
Foot Care: Add 5-8 drops of Cedarwood to a footbath once a week, or to a foot moisturiser, to encourage healthy feet and protect against fungal infection.
Traditional & Historical Information:
Cedarwood oil was used by the ancient Egyptians as a perfume, in cosmetics and in the preservation of mummies. It has reported antiseptic properties and has a history in the Far East for treating infections. In Tibet it is found in traditional medicines but also in temples as incense. In Aromatherapy Cedarwood essential oil is used to assist relaxation of body and mind, and to support mental clarity. The same process has therapeutic application for anxiety and nervous tension. It is promoted as a tonic restorative for healthy vitality and natural energy, and has been indicated for numerous physical conditions such as eczema, dry skin, dandruff, fluid retention, cellulite, arthritis, rheumatism, cystitis and asthma.
