Ginger root has an inviting, arousing, aroma that complements vital energy and strength.

It has cleansing and soothing properties that support its use as an aid to healthy digestion and managing feelings of nausea, especially during pregnancy.

Blends well with: Orange Sweet, Lemongrass and Vetiver.

Directions for use:

• Pregnancy: This oil helps to cleanse the sensory palate, particularly useful during the morning and early stages of pregnancy. Blend 2 drops with 3 drops of Spearmint and diffuse at night. 1 drop of this blend can also be rubbed onto the Solar Plexus, as required.
• Sore Throat: 2 drops of ginger onto a warm compress, place on the throat and leave 10-15 minutes. Also, 1 drop into some warm saltwater and gargle 2-3 times daily.
• Healthy Appetite: To assist a healthy appetite and digestion, especially when eating is not appealing, add 3 drops of ginger to a diffuser one hour prior to eating. The effects can be enhanced by adding 2 drops Rosemary and 1 drop Cardamon.
• Courage: Help create an atmosphere of energy and focus that may help with unexpected or unconventional challenges. Add 3-5 drops to a diffuser. Repeat as required. The scent of ginger may be enhanced by 5 drops Orange Sweet, 3 drops Cedarwood Atlas, or 5 drops Lemon and 2 drops Sandalwood.

The ancient Greeks and Chinese applied it for toothache, malaria, joint and muscular problems, and digestive complaints. It is also known as tonic and fortifying to the immune system. Ginger is stimulating and is believed to have aphrodisiac properties. Since the Middle Ages it has been valued by the Western world as a digestive aid and for cold and flu symptoms, due to its warming and antiseptic qualities.
