Malcolm and Melanie Rands founded ecostore on New Zealand’s Northland coast in 1993.

About a decade earlier they’d found pristine land there, at the foot of a valley dotted with streams and surrounded by native forest. They were part of a group that created an ecovillage and set out to make their home as pure as the land that housed them.

By first sourcing, then creating, cleaning and bodycare products without harmful or unnecessary chemicals, ecostore put people's health first and gave them the choice to live clean. Many brands have sprung up since, but Malcolm and Melanie are true pioneers who mapped the blueprint for people to clean their homes and bodies more naturally. ecostore proudly manufactures its household cleaners, bodycare and babycare products at its own factory in Auckland.
